For the past two decades, Georgia Democrats have tried to seize the center and lost. Meanwhile, Georgia government has become needlessly cruel.
800,000 Georgians lack health care because Republicans refuse to expand Medicaid. Black men are as likely to be in prison as in a four-year college. Decent people are in jail because they smoke pot or can’t pay a speeding ticket. The stocks and bonds of the 1% are not taxed, but houses and cars are.
Politics won’t work until Georgians of all races, genders and regions unite around shared economic interests. A $12 an hour minimum wage. Legal marijuana. Drastically reduced prison sentences for non-violent offenders. A property tax that treats houses and financial property equally.
I want to build a better, fairer Georgia. I need your vote.
